Homeless Teens: Abandoned. Lost. Forgotten.

Rethink Homelessness on April 24, 2015

Homelessness among our youth has been a growing issue. There are an estimated 1.6 million homeless teens at any given time in the United States with about 200,000 living a permanent life on the streets. Some of these youths are runaways, some are throwaways. All of them suffer the same. Living a life of homelessness is damaging both physically and mentally for anyone but for a teenager with limited life skills it is often fatal.

Each year, we bury over 5000 homeless teens in unmarked graves across the country. These people die without acknowledgement. Nobody knows that they are gone. Nobody cries for them. These are the forgotten youth of America, the lost children.

It”s time to Rethink Teen Homelessness.
