Rethinking Homelessness for Veterans

Rethink Homelessness on March 18, 2015

Today the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness and our partners at triSect and the Orlando Regional Realtors Association released a new report, announcing a historic reduction in Veterans homelessness in our region.

Since 2011, the Orlando VA Medical Center has been implementing a proven national model that has lead to a 59% online casino decrease in Veterans homelessness across Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. This is an exciting moment that demonstrates how close Central Florida already has come to making homelessness brief, one-time, and rare for those who have served in our military.

You can read the coverage of the Veterans homelessness report in the Orlando Sentinel.
